Two old women climb an apple tree and come down at different times.

Activity 2: Narrate the Poem

• After reading or listening to the poem, narrate the poem events aloud using your own words.

Activity 4: Act Out the Poem

• As you recite the poem, pretend to climb up into an apple tree with one other person.
• A bed or a couch might make a good apple tree.
• As you continue to recite the poem, come down one-by-one.

Activity 5: Create Novel Artwork Based on the Poem

• One day this week, create artwork of an apple tree.
• Use paints, crayons, pastels, Legos, blocks, or Play-Doh to create the artwork.
